Description

The former dairy and office building, located approximately one metre northeast of Dairy House, dates back to around 1777. It features a rectangular plan constructed of Flemish bond red brick and is topped with a gabled old plain tile roof. The building is two storeys high and has a three-window range facing Dairy House. There are flat brick arches over two 19th-century plank doors, as well as flat and segmental brick arches over two late 19th-century casement windows, which include a blocked doorway to the left. The first floor has three windows, each with late 19th-century casements and one with late 18th-century leaded lights. Similar windows are found at the rear of the building. Inside, there are chamfered beams and a stone-flag floor. This building was part of a farm complex depicted on a map of the Mistley Hall estate from 1778, which is now held at the Essex Records Office.
