Description
The Old Custom House, formerly known as the White House, is a house built in the early 19th century. It is constructed of plastered brick and features a hipped grey slate roof, with gault brick chimney stacks on both the right and left sides. The building has projecting eaves supported by paired brackets and end pilasters. It is two storeys tall and has a three-window range of small paned vertically sliding sash windows, with 20th-century shutters on the ground floor. The central entrance consists of a 20th-century panelled door with a top light, flanked by pilasters and featuring double brackets on the frieze and brackets supporting a flat canopy. There is also a single-storey extension with a matching window that connects the Old Custom House to the adjacent property, Kowloon.
