GREAT OAKLEY HARWICH ROAD (north west side) Barn 90 metres east south east of Great Oakley Hall Farmhouse

GV II Barn. C18. Timber framed, weatherboarded, roofed with corrugated iron. Seven bays aligned north east- south west, with two bay midstrey to south east. C19 extension to south west. Catslide extension to south west of midstrey, roofed with slate. C19 extension in east angle, of red brick roofed with red clay 'Roman' tiles. Small C20 lean-to extension to north west. The north west elevation has the great doors, inserted double doors, and two inserted high pitching doors. Hardwood frame, primary straight bracing, bolted knees to tiebeams, clasped purlin roof with ridge-board. Inserted floor. Included for group value.
