Description

This is a tomb located approximately 8 metres south-west of the West Tower of the Church of St. Mary and All Saints, dating from around 1817. It features a red brick base with a stone top slab that has a moulded edge. The base has two panels on the sides and one panel at each end. The inscription on the tomb, dated 1817, commemorates John Harriot and his family, who was the projector of the Thames River Police and lived at Broomhills in Stambridge.
