Description
This row of cottages and shops dates to the 18th and 19th centuries, built of red brick with a red plain tiled roof and three rear chimney stacks. The building is one storey high with attics, featuring six dormers in a 19th-century style. The windows are two-light casements with central transoms. A dentilled eaves cornice runs along the top. Originally, a small-paned window with a segmental head was located to the left of a round-headed doorway; this feature is retained in numbers 57, 59, and 61. Number 55 has a 20th-century recessed shop front with a door to the right and a fascia above. Number 63 features a shop window to the left with a moulded surround, fascia, and cornice, alongside a round-headed doorway to the right. Number 65 has a shop window on the left, a fascia and cornice above, and a round-headed doorway to the right. An ornate gutter is supported by decorative brackets.
