Description
Nos. 58, 60, and 62 on West Street are a row of cottages that include a shop and a carriageway on the left. They date from the 18th century or earlier, with 19th century and later alterations and additions. Nos. 60 and 62 have plaster facades, while No. 58 is faced with painted brick, likely all built with timber framing. The buildings feature a red plain tiled roof with four catslide dormers on the left and two hipped dormers on the right. The catslide dormers have small paned vertically sliding sash windows, while the hipped dormers have two-light small paned casement windows. There are two rear chimney stacks made of red brick.
The carriageway on the left is next to a 19th century shop front that has side pilasters and moulded brackets supporting the fascia and moulded cornice. The shop window is angled and has three lights, with a tiled plinth and a door to the left. Nos. 60 and 58, located in the center and on the right, each have small paned windows flanking central doorways that feature 20th century doors. The right-hand window of No. 58 serves as a shop window and includes side pilasters, a fascia, and a cornice. No. 60 has shutters.
