Description

The Crusty Pie is a cafe located on West Street in Rochford. It dates from the 18th century or earlier and has undergone later alterations and additions. The building is timber framed and weatherboarded, featuring a double range of red plain tiled roofs and red brick chimney stacks on both the right and left sides. It stands two storeys high and has two small paned vertically sliding sash windows on both the first and ground floors. The ground floor on the left has small paned shop windows with side pilasters topped with finials and a fascia board in between. There are three similar windows on the left return. The central part of the ground floor has two 19th-century shop doors with top lights and a continuous pentice board above, accessed by a single step. The building also includes a rear range.
