Description

West Hall and West Hall Cottages are three attached dwellings located in Paglesham Church End. The easternmost dwelling is a 19th-century red brick structure with a grey slate roof, featuring return gables and a rear chimney stack. The central range, which dates back to the 17th century or earlier, is timber framed, weatherboarded on the north side, and plastered on the south. The attached eastern range also faces north and is pebbledashed, with plaster on the south side and red plain tiled roofs. There are three red brick chimney stacks, and all ranges are two stories tall.

The 19th-century eastern front projects forward at the right, left, and center, with a central band. It has a three-window range of small paned vertically sliding sashes with gauged brick arches. A recessed central porch is accessed by steps and features a shield of arms above the lintel, a four-panel door, and a fanlight above with a moulded surround. The earlier north-facing ranges contain five first-floor and eight ground-floor windows, which include various 19th and 20th-century small paned casements and tripartite vertically sliding sashes. The central range has a six-panel door with bolection moulding to the frieze and a moulded pediment. The right range has a vertically boarded door and includes a crosswing that projects to the south (rear) with a hipped roof.
