Description
Finches and Moules is a house located in Paglesham Church End, dating from the 16th and 18th centuries, with later alterations and extensions. The building is timber framed and weatherboarded, topped with red plain tiled double range roofs. There is an outshot to the rear left (northeast) that features a dormer. A central 16th-century red brick chimney stack is present. The house has two storeys, with the 18th-century front featuring a two-window range of tripartite small paned vertically sliding sashes, with shutters on the first floor and pentice boards on the ground floor. A central 20th-century glazed door is set within a pedimented doorcase supported by console brackets. The 16th-century range is a remnant solar crosswing, heavily framed with tension braces, and originally had a roof with double collars, now modified to include side purlins. Additionally, there is an 18th-century corner cupboard in the front range.
