Description

This is a pillar tomb located approximately 2 metres from the southeast corner of the south transept of the Church of St. Leonard in Southminster. It dates from around 1816 and commemorates William and Mary Stammers and their family. The tomb features three base slabs and a chamfered stem with a moulded base. The head of the tomb is moulded and has a sunk chamfer, topped with a lidded urn that has two handles, resting on a small moulded base. Inscriptions can be found on the panels of the stem.
