Description

Hermitstone is a house dating from the 18th century, with later alterations and additions. It is constructed of red brick and features double ranges of red tiled roofs, with a red brick chimney at each ridge end. The building has two storeys and a five-window range of small paned vertically sliding sash windows with horns, each topped with gauged brick arches.

At the center, there is a pedimented portico that is accessed by flights of steps on both the left and right sides. This portico is supported by four Ionic columns and has a canopy with traceried light in the pediment. The entrance includes a panelled door with lights, fluted pilasters, and a semi-circular light above.
