GV II

Pair of houses with shop to right. C18 features to High Street, C16 or earlier frame. Timber framed, plastered facing, band and parapet. Red plain tiled roofs, hipped to left and right. 2 red brick chimney stacks. 2 storeys. 2:2:1 window range first floor, 2:2 range to ground floor of small paned vertically sliding sashes, with C19/C20 shop front to right. Two 6 panelled doors, that to left now with 4 lights, reveal panels, moulded surrounds, friezes, flat canopies on brackets. Of complex internal plan, the building to right, No. 12, has a medieval timber frame with visible arch brace to first floor tie beam, there may be a crown post above this tie, but no access to roof is possible at time of re-survey. Solid brace to ground floor bridging joist. Jowled storey posts. Splat balusters and moulded handrail to first floor landing.
