Description
Chynoweth is a pair of semi-detached houses built in the mid-19th century. They are constructed of red brick with a stuccoed front elevation and feature slate roofs. Each house has two stacks located above the flank walls of the main block.
The exterior is two storeys high and features a symmetrical four-window arrangement with a recessed centre. At the rear, there are lower two-storey gabled ranges with slate roofs. The front elevation includes pedimental gables at the projecting ends, which are adorned with broad pilasters and tripartite sash windows on both floors. The sash windows are margin glazed and have an additional central vertical glazing bar, while the ground floor windows are topped with a floating consoled cornice.
In the recessed centre, the first floor has two narrow windows, similar to those below, separated by a small pilaster. The ground floor features two entrance doors set back within a porch, which is topped by an entablature with pilasters in antis. One of the doors is contemporary and consists of two moulded semicircular-headed panels.
Inside No.33, there is a staircase with turned bobbin-like balusters.
