Description
The building is a kitchen that was later used as a dovecote, located approximately 100 metres north of Little Braxted Hall. It dates back to the 15th century and is constructed with a timber frame and weatherboarding. The roof is hipped and covered with pointed red tiles. The structure features a door and loft openings, and it is composed of a square layout with two bays. Inside, there are chamfered arched braces supporting the collar beam, and spur braces positioned above the top plates. The storey posts are chamfered and jowled, with halved wall braces. Some walls have window openings with central mullions. Dowel holes can be seen at regular intervals along the studs, and the timber shows heavy sooting throughout. The building is situated within a moated enclosure, and there was no access at the time of the re-survey.
