Description

Little Braxted Hall is a house that dates back to the 15th century or earlier, with later alterations and additions. It is constructed with a timber frame and faced with red brick. The roof is hipped and covered with red plain tiles, featuring gables on the left and far right. There are red brick chimney stacks on the left and rear center, each with two octagonal shafts that have moulded bases and caps, along with a similar shaft and a single octagonal stack at the rear. A square attached shaft is located to the right.

The building has two storeys and features a five-window range of small paned vertically sliding sashes. The central entrance has a recessed board door with a reeded surround and frieze adorned with a patera, topped by a flat canopy. To the right, there is a panelled door with small paned sidelights and a flat canopy above. Adjacent to the right is a single-storey extension built with similar materials, which includes a central board door and two small paned casements.

The interior is said to contain heavy exposed timber framing, stop-chamfered bridging joists, an original service doorway, and 17th-century panelling. The front garden is enclosed by cast iron railings from the 19th or 20th century, featuring palmette finials on the rails and acorn finials on the posts. Access to the property was not available at the time of the resurvey.
