Description

House. Dating from the 16th century or possibly earlier, Bridgemans Farmhouse has undergone later alterations and 20th-century additions. It is timber-framed and rendered with 20th-century batten decoration. The roof is covered with red plain tiles, and there are three red brick chimney stacks. The house has a projecting, jettied gable to the right, forming a crosswing with a double apex roof. The two storeys feature a 3-window range, and a 2-window range of 20th-century casement windows with small panes. A 20th-century glazed door and a French window are located in the right crosswing. Internal features include reused, heavy, chamfered bridging joists, some visible wall studs, and a pointed, segmental doorway with foliate carved spandrels on the return of the left crosswing.
