Description

A pair of semi-detached cottages dating from the mid-19th century, located on Gate Street in Maldon. The cottages are built of red Flemish-bond brick with white brick dressings, and have a slate hipped roof with a central chimney stack. The two--storey, two-window-range facades feature sash windows; the first-floor window in No.7 has central vertical glazing bars, while the first-floor window in No.9 is a 16-pane sash. The ground floor also has two sash windows, and two semicircular-arched entrances. The door of No.7 has two vertically moulded panels, and the door of No.9 has four vertically moulded panels. A single-storey brick outhouse with a gabled slate roof is located at the rear. The interior has not been inspected.
