Description
Pundicts Lodge is a house that dates back to the 16th century or earlier, with later additions and alterations. It is constructed from timber framing and plaster, featuring exposed frame on the three original gables on the left and a 20th-century gabled crosswing on the right. All gables are jettied, with a plastered section in between. The roof is covered with red plain tiles and is topped with three octagonal red brick chimney stacks that have moulded bases and caps; the left stack has two attached shafts. The building is two storeys high and has a window arrangement of three groups of three and one, featuring 20th-century diamond leaded three-light casements, except for the ground floor right, which has two 20th-century round-headed windows with glazing bars. The central range has a plank and muntin door. To the left, there is a 20th-century single-storey garage or outbuilding built from similar materials, with hanging knees to the uprights and a gable on the left. Inside, there is a doorway with a four-centred arch, a restored red brick inglenook fireplace, a mullion window, and jowled storey posts. The rear range has a two-armed crown post roof and moulded ceiling joists. A red brick culvert arch can be seen below the rear range.
