Description

High House is a 16th-century house that has undergone external renovation. It’s located on Moor Hall Road, at the corner of Sherring Road. The building has a rectangular plan, with a T-shaped roofline created by a gabled wing above a full-length rear lean-to. The roof is covered in peg tiles, and a central chimney stack of red brick, built in the 17th century in a distinctive ‘concertina’ style, is present. The timber frame is exposed with plaster infill, and the windows are casement types. Visible storey posts are present in the end walls, featuring projecting jowls. Rainwater heads dated 1876 are incorporated into the design.
