Description
Little West Hatch is a house from the early 19th century that has been converted into a residential institution. It is built of stuccoed brick and features a slate roof. The building is oriented approximately northeast to southwest, with a southeast aspect, and has two short wings that extend forward to create a recessed entrance. There are two chimney stacks located behind the ridge.
At the rear, there is a flat-roofed extension from the 20th century, and to the east, there is a hipped roof extension from the 19th or 20th century. The house is two storeys tall and has a central half-glazed door flanked by fixed lights, all set within a flat-roofed porch supported by six Doric columns. There is one casement window on each side of the entrance, both with external louvred shutters. On the first floor, there are four similar windows, also with shutters. The hipped roof has a very shallow pitch and features a long overhang at the eaves. Overall, the building presents a symmetrical elevation that showcases a distinct Regency character.
