Description
Chestnut Cottage is an early 19th-century cottage that has been altered in the 20th century. It is timber framed and weatherboarded, with a roof made of 20th-century red clay corrugated tiles. The cottage is aligned approximately northwest to southeast and faces northeast. There is no chimney stack on the main building. At the northwest end, there is a single-storey extension with a roof made of 19th-century handmade red clay pantiles, which features an axial chimney stack that was rebuilt in the 20th century. Additionally, there is a lean-to extension at the rear of the middle of the cottage. The cottage has two storeys, a plain door, and three casement windows from the 19th and 20th centuries on each floor. The roof is hipped at both ends.
