Description
Perry Cottage is a block of cottages from the early 19th century that has been converted into one house and extended in the 20th century. The building is timber framed, with a combination of plaster and weatherboarding, and features a thatched roof. It is oriented approximately northwest to southeast, with a northeast aspect. There is a chimney stack located behind the ridge near the northwest end and an external chimney stack at the southeast end. At the rear of the northwest end, there is a 19th-century lean-to extension with a catslide roof. A single-storey flat-roofed extension was added at the southeast end in the 20th century. The cottage has two plain doors, one of which is set in a 20th-century gabled porch. On the ground floor, there are four cast iron casement windows with 24 lights, and four smaller similar windows in eyebrow dormers, all dating from the 19th century. The lower portion of the building is weatherboarded, while the upper section is plastered. The complete set of cast iron windows is particularly valuable, as they are often found in a fragmented state elsewhere.
