Lobby-entrance house, C17, extended in C19 and C20. Timber framed, roughcast rendered, roofed with handmade red clay tiles. 4 bays aligned approximately E-W, aspect S, with external chimney stack at W end, and axial chimney stack in second bay from E, forming a lobby-entrance. Stair tower to rear of same bay. Gabled wings to rear of each end. Extension with catslide roof between E wing and stair tower. 2 storey flat-roofed extension,C20 between W wing and stair tower. Single storey flat-roofed extension, C20, between the ends of the rear wings, forming a straight rear elevation at ground floor level only. 2 storeys, C20 tiled gabled porch with 6-panel door at front of it, 3 window range of C20 casements. Axial stack has grouped diagonal shafts, reduced in height. W stack is original within approximately 1.5 metres of the base, rebuilt above. RCHM 7.
