Description

Little Weald Hall Farmhouse is a 17th-century lobby-entrance house that has been extended in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is timber framed and roughcast rendered, with a roof made of handmade red clay tiles. The building consists of four bays arranged approximately east-west, with a southern aspect. An external chimney stack is located at the west end, and there is an axial chimney stack in the second bay from the east, which creates the lobby entrance. A stair tower is situated at the rear of this same bay.

At the rear, there are gabled wings on each end, and an extension with a catslide roof is positioned between the east wing and the stair tower. There is also a two-storey flat-roofed extension from the 20th century between the west wing and the stair tower, as well as a single-storey flat-roofed extension from the 20th century between the ends of the rear wings, which creates a straight rear elevation at ground floor level.

The front features a two-storey tiled gabled porch from the 20th century, which includes a six-panel door and a range of three 20th-century casement windows. The axial stack has grouped diagonal shafts that have been reduced in height, while the west stack is original for approximately 1.5 metres from the base and has been rebuilt above that point.
