Description

Longyard Cottage is a house that dates back to the 16th century, with alterations made in the mid-18th century. It features a timber frame and plastered exterior, topped with a red plain tile roof. The building has two storeys and two gables at the front. There are two ranges of 20th-century leaded casement windows and a central porch from the same period. An original red brick chimney stack with four diagonal shafts is present. Lean-to extensions are located on both the left and right sides of the cottage. Inside, much of the original frame remains intact, and there is a carved date that refers to the alterations, reading "W. R. 1740."
