Description

A house, now a school, was built in 1797 by J. Lewis and extensively remodelled around 1814. It is constructed of brick and stucco, with grey slate roofs. The house has two and three storeys, attics, and cellars, and originally had a 1, 4, 1 window arrangement with vertical sliding sash windows and glazing bars. It features a central, recessed and balustraded front portico supported by Ionic columns. The top floor is an early 19th-century addition. A balustrade runs through both two-storey side wings. The building was owned by the Palmer family in the 18th century.
