Description

This is a 16th-century cottage with later additions and alterations. The building is timber-framed and plastered, with a return wall featuring decorative pargeting. It has a red plain tiled roof with a gable end facing the road, and a lean-to extension beginning at half the roof height on the left side. There is a regular arrangement of small-paned casement windows. A 20th-century boarded door is located on the left side, with a small window above it. A brick chimney stack rises from the ridge of the roof. Inside, much of the original timber framing is exposed within the three-bay cottage. Original back-to-back fireplaces are present, with mantel beams above. There are also remnants of mullion window slots, bladed scarf joints, and the remains of the original staircase.
