TL 504 076 MAGDALEN LAVER 5/26 Barn approx. 50m NE of Molmans Farmhouse

GV II

Barn, early C17. Timber framed, weatherboarded, roofed with corrugated asbestos. 3 bays aligned N-S, originally with a midstrey to the W, now replaced by a lean-to extension of corrugated asbestos on iron stanchions, C20. Roof half-hipped at N end only. Jowled posts, primary straight bracing, heavy studding. Near-straight braces to straight tiebeams, queen struts, clasped purlin roof. Collars at half-bay intervals clasping purlins. Face-halved and bladed scarfs in wallplates. Base of walls concreted. (Of 2 fairly similar barns on the site, this is the one to the NW).
