Description
This is a barn located about 60 metres east-north-east of Hill Farm House, dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century. It features a weatherboarded timber frame set on a brick plinth, with a half-hipped roof covered in corrugated asbestos sheets.
The barn has five bays, two aisles, and midstreys. Both the east and west sides have racking roof midstreys with full-light plank doors at the centre. On the east side, there is a dilapidated outshut to the left of the midstrey, and the wall framing and cladding are missing from the south end wall.
Inside, there are curved braces connecting the aisle posts to the arcade plates and tie-beams, with some tie-beam braces replaced by curved wooden knees. The structure includes collars, clasped purlins, common rafters, and a ridgeboard, as well as wall posts, studs, and straight tension braces.
