Description

Castle House and Shop is a house and shop dating from the 16th century or earlier, which underwent extensive alterations in the 18th century. The building is timber-framed and plastered, with a red plain tile roof that is hipped to the south. It has two storeys and a three-window front with 18th and 19th century vertical sliding sash windows, featuring glazing bars. A 20th-century casement window is located on the ground floor. A pedimented doorcase with moulded architraves provides entry. A 20th-century shopfront is present at the south end. A 20th-century red brick chimney stack is also visible.
