Description

The signal box, located approximately 50 meters north of Chappel and Wakes Colne Railway Station, dates from the late 19th century. It is timber framed and features painted weatherboarding along with a low pitched gabled slate roof. The upper floor has large pane double hung sash windows, and there is a timber staircase and access balcony at the south end. The gable ends have simple bargeboards and ventilation. The ground floor consists of a low room with large pane fixed lights facing the track side. The building has been recently restored.
