Description

This is a 17th and 18th century cottage located on Coast Road in West Mersea. It is a single-storey building with attic space, characterised by a gambrel roof covered in peg tiles and end chimneys. The front of the cottage is clad in modern weatherboards, with a plastered bay window on the right side. A central, plain door is flanked by small-paned sash windows. Two flat dormers are set into the gambrel roof, each with a matching sash window. A V-shaped wooden eaves-trough is supported by wooden brackets. The cottage follows a T-plan and includes a gambrel-roofed extension to the rear, also weatherboarded.
