Description

An 18th century timber-framed and plastered house located on The Green in Writtle. The date 1787 is displayed on the front of the building. It is two storeys high and has a three-window front. The upper storey windows are double-hung sashes with glazing bars. The ground storey has two 20th century casements. There are two boarded doors, each with a cornice hood supported on shaped brackets. The roof is tiled and hipped at both the east and west ends. The listed buildings surrounding The Green form a group, including numbers 8, 10, 38, 52, and 25, which are buildings of local interest.
