Description

Greenbury is an 18th and 19th century timber-framed house with plastered walls and a red brick front. It is a five-storey building with a parapet, a brick dentil string course, and a heavy moulded stucco cornice between the first and second floors. The front elevation has five window bays, with double-hung sash windows featuring glazing bars and gauged brick flat arches within painted reveals. A central six-panel door is contained within a doorcase featuring panelled reveals, pilasters, and a cornice hood supported by two iron brackets, above which is a plain rectangular fanlight. The roof is slate, hipped and double-pitched. The front is protected by 19th-century wrought iron railings with fleur-de-lis tops. Greenbury forms a group with other buildings around The Green, including numbers 8, 10, 38, 52, and 25, which are buildings of local interest.
