Description
The barn at Bennett's Farm is a timber-framed structure dating from the 17th or 18th century. It is weatherboarded and features a half-hipped roof covered with red peg tiles. The barn is four bays long and has a half-hipped midstreys on the east side, with later lean-to roofs flanking it. The roadside end has a lean-to extension, and the roofs of these extensions are made of red pantiles and corrugated iron. Inside, the original frame is visible, with arched braced tie beams and through bracing on the walls. The roof structure includes a Queen Strut side purlin design with intermittent collars and halved and bladed top plate scarfs.
