Description
Cottage End, Burrells Cottage, and Rose Cottage is a building originally constructed as a 17th-century timber-framed house, but it has been largely rebuilt in the 18th and 19th centuries. The central chimney stack, which is cruciform in shape, dates back to the 17th century. The building features cross wings at both the east and west ends, each with jettied upper storeys. It is now faced in weatherboarding and consists of one storey with attics. The windows are double-hung sashes with vertical glazing bars, while the ground storey windows in the cross wings are early 19th-century bays with glazing bars, supported on cast iron pillars. The doors are from the 20th century. The roof is tiled and includes three gabled dormer windows, along with the central 17th-century cruciform chimney stack. At the rear, there are three gabled wings. This building is part of a group that includes Cherry Tree Cottages, The Ferns, The Chequers Inn, Broadgates, The Church of St Michael and All Angels, and Nos 1 and 2 The Bishops.
