Description
Broadgates is an 18th-century house with a painted brick front, featuring two storeys, attics, and cellars. The building has a four-window range with double-hung sashes that include single vertical glazing bars. A central Tuscan portico projects from the front, supported by plain columns and topped with a cornice. On the east side, there is a three-window range with two and three-light windows, also double-hung sashes with glazing bars. The centre window on the first storey has a semi-circular arched head. The roof is tiled and hipped at both the east and west ends, with four hipped dormer windows on the front. Additionally, the east side features a moulded eaves cornice. Broadgates is part of a group that includes Cherry Tree Cottages, The Ferns, The Chequers Inn, The Church of St Michael and All Angels, Nos 1 and 2 The Bishops, Cottage End, Burrells Cottage, Rose Cottage, Tighshee, and Willow Cottage.
