Description
Nos 18 and 22 High Street, known as Rothmans, are buildings that likely date from the 16th to 17th century, with a later wing added to the west. They have been significantly altered in the 18th century and partially refaced in the 19th century. The buildings are two storeys high with attics. The front block is faced in white brick on the north and east sides. The east front features a five-window range with double-hung sash windows that have glazing bars. The ground storey includes a 20th-century shop front. The roof is tiled and hipped, with three hipped dormer windows on each of the north, east, and south sides. On the north side, there are remnants of an old chimney stack with a moulded brick base. Inside, there are notable 17th and 18th-century features, including panelling, doors, and a staircase from the 17th century.
