Description
Nos 133 and 135 on High Street are buildings dating from the early 17th century to the early 18th century, with late 19th-century fronts. The front facades are made of red brick, while the rear is weatherboarded. The roofs are half-hipped and have socketed old tiles, with a catslide at the rear. There is one tall brick chimney stack at the rear. The front features two ranges of sash windows with ornamental terracotta surrounds, an arched doorway also with ornamental terracotta surrounds, two modern shop fronts, and four attic dormers. Three of the dormers are early 18th century with casements, while one is a 19th-century gabled dormer with ornamental terracotta decoration on the gables and two sashes below. The rear of No 133 has a single-storey early 19th-century extension with a hipped slate roof and one sash window with glazing bars. The rear of No 135 has a two-storey late 19th-century rendered extension.
