Description
No. 91 on High Street is a late 16th-century timber-framed building with an 18th-century brick front and 19th-century additions to the west. It stands three stories high with a parapet and features a three-window range. The ground floor has a modern shop front that has been inserted. The building jetties along the north wall over a crown passage. It has sash windows without glazing bars in exposed boxes, which are set beneath straight gauged brick heads with projecting keystones. There are stone cornices at the eaves and second-floor levels. The roof is hipped and gambrelled, covered with peg tiles, and the plan of the eastern part of the building is square. Inside, there are timber cornices dating from around 1700, which is likely when the last major re-styling occurred.
