Description
East Barn at Old Lodge Farm is a barn dated 1802. It features weatherboard cladding over a timber frame set on a brick plinth, topped with a half-hipped slate roof. The barn has a five-bay plan with a central threshing floor. There is a hipped midstrey, with outshuts on either side; the right side has a 20th-century door, while the left side has a 19th-century plank door with strap hinges leading to the granary. An inserted 20th-century entry is located at the right gable end. Inside, the barn has primary-braced construction with light scantling, unjowled storey posts, arched bracing to the tie beams flanking the threshing floor, and bolted knees in the outer bays. The roof is a collar-truss design with staggered butt purlins and queen posts flanking the threshing floor.
