Description
Willow Cottage is a house that dates from the 17th century and has 20th-century additions. It features a timber frame, is weatherboarded, and has pantiled roofs with a central stack. The cottage is one and a half storeys high and includes a 20th-century porch. The ground floor has small paned, canted bay and casement windows, while the first floor features a dormer window. The structure consists of two cells framed with internal straight tension braces that connect the corner posts and central truss to the middle rails.
Inside, the living room contains the original fireplace, which is the only one in the house. The fireplace lintel and the axial ceiling joist have lamb's tongue chamfer stops. At the rear, there are remains of a bread oven that projects into the garden, along with gable end windows. There are also 20th-century brick and weatherboarding additions at the rear and both ends of the cottage.
