Description

No. 86 Newland Street is an 18th-century house that features a timber frame and plastered exterior, with a red brick front that includes a parapet and a raised brick band. The building has two storeys and a four-window range, with double-hung sash windows that have glazing bars set in plain reveals, topped with gauged brick arches. Two of the windows are three-light. The ground floor includes a 20th-century shop and a cart entrance at the south end. The roof is double-pitched and tiled. This property is part of a group that includes Nos. 86 to 92 (even) and the Congregational Chapel, as well as Nos. 72 to 78 (even), Nos. 61 to 65 (odd), and Nos. 83 to 91 (odd).
