Description

This is an 18th-century red brick front applied to an earlier timber-framed house. The building is three storeys high, with cellars beneath, and has a three-window front. Most windows are double-hung sashes with glazing bars, set in flush cased frames. The outer windows on the second storey are 20th-century casements. The central window on the first floor has a semi-circular arched head. A shallow, three-light bow window projects from the south-west end of the building at the first floor, and a 20th-century shop front occupies the ground floor. The roof is tiled. The building forms a group with numbers 83 to 91 (odd) and 61 to 65 (odd), 72 to 78 (even), 86 to 92 (even), and the Congregational Chapel.
