Description

This is a range of 18th-century timber-framed and plastered houses located on Rayne Road in Bocking. The front elevation is now finished with pebble-dash rendering. The houses extend to three storeys and include attics, and feature a symmetrical four-window arrangement. They have double-hung sash windows with vertical glazing bars, set within flush cased frames. Each doorway is framed by a moulded wooden architrave, topped with a flat hood supported by shaped brackets. The doors themselves are 20th-century replacements. The roofs are tiled, with three flat-headed dormers visible. Numbers 48 to 52 form a group with the even-numbered properties at 74 Rayne Road.
