Description

This is a late 16th century timber-framed and plastered building, with 18th century and later additions to the rear. It stands adjacent to number 96 on the southwest side. The building extends over two storeys, with attics and cellars. The upper storeys are jettied, while the ground storey now incorporates 20th century shop fronts. The attic storey projects, supported by a carved bressumer featuring billet ornamentation and three original shaped brackets. The upper storey between the bressumer and eaves is clad in panelled plaster. There are three window bays, with double-hung sash windows. Two of these windows have glazing bars, and one, at the southwest end, is paired with vertical glazing bars, all within flush cased frames. The roofs are tiled, with three flat-headed dormers. The building forms a group with numbers 90 to 96 (even), 100, 102, 106, and 112, and with numbers 73 to 77 (odd).
