Description

Nos. 76 and 78, High Street are a 17th-century timber-framed house with a rear wing dating back to the 15th century, originally comprising six bays and subsequently much altered. The front facade was renovated in the 18th and 19th centuries with the addition of a third storey. The building has three storeys and a three-window front, featuring paired double-hung sash windows with single vertical glazing bars to the upper sashes, set within flush cased frames. The ground-floor windows are adorned with stucco pediments. The roof is slate. The rear of the property is characterised by three gables. Nos. 68 to 80, on the south-east side of High Street, form a group of listed buildings.
