Description

Number 4 New Street is a 17th-century house that features a timber frame and plaster exterior. It has a long iron-laze of 56 feet and stands three storeys tall, with the third storey likely added in the 18th or 19th century. The building includes cellars and has a four-window range, primarily consisting of double-hung sash windows with glazing bars set in flush cased frames. The second-storey windows are casements. The upper storey may have originally jutted out, a characteristic known as jettied. Number 4 and the house occupied by Henry Joscelyn Ltd are part of a group.
