Description
The Horse and Groom Inn is an 18th-century timber-framed and plastered building featuring a wooden parapet and cornice. The front has been roughcast and the building stands two storeys high with cellars. It has a three-window range with double-hung sashes that include glazing bars, all set in flush cased frames. The first-storey windows are adorned with wooden cornices, while the ground storey showcases three three-light bays. A wooden cornice fascia runs across the front above the ground storey bays, with pilasters positioned between the bays and at the doorway. At the east end, there is a single-storey addition that includes attics with two three-light windows, also double-hung sashes with glazing bars. A timber-framed and plastered wing extends at the rear, which is partly weather-boarded. The roofs are tiled, dating from the 20th century, and feature two flat-headed dormers on the eastern addition.
