Description

LAMARSH LANGLEY HILL TL 83 NE (west side) 2/75 Hewitts - II House. Late C16, altered in C20. Timber framed, plastered with imitation framing at ends, roof thatched. 4 bays facing E, with internal chimney stack one bay from right end. C20 rear extension roofed with red clay corrugated tiles, forming a T-plan, and canopy in left rear angle. One storey with attics. 3 casements, door in front of thatched gabled porch, 3 casements in gabled dormers, all C20. The interior has exposed framing, jowled posts, heavy studding with arch-braces trenched inside studding, axial and transverse beams chamfered with lamb's tongue stops, joists of horizontal section, clasped purlin roof with arched wind-bracing.
