Description
This is an ancillary building located approximately 15 metres south of The Barretts. It dates from the late 17th century and has been altered in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is timber framed and plastered, with a thatched roof. It consists of three bays that are positioned at right angles to Howe Street, featuring a 19th-century external stack at the rear end. The building is one storey high with attics and has a half-hipped roof. The street elevation includes one 20th-century casement window on each floor. It has primary straight bracing and a clasped purlin roof. This building appears to be contemporary with The Barretts and was originally an agricultural structure that was converted into a cottage in the 19th century. It is listed for its group value.
